Harbour Maastricht

We reserved online in advance as part of a round trip in southern Netherlands. This was easy, although the places get booked up very quickly.

On arrival the harbour master gave us our spot which was easy to find and with a great view up the Maas and also over the Marina which was very smart. There was electricity and water on the spot, plus a nice green area to walk the dog, plus a small boat launching area which was good for him to cool down in – that was 19 July 2022 and 39C, so he needed it.

The shower block is shared with the boaters, but is outstanding and an excellent facility.

You can walk to a nearby lake where you can swim, but that can get really busy in hotter days.

It is possible to cycle to Maastricht centre or you can take a small navette ferry boat, but does not take dogs.

There are a number of take away options that deliver to the marina, although you do have to go to the gate to pick it up. Our Dutch neighbours ordered pizza, whilst we had Sushi. Takes a while, but this is not the sort of place to be rushed.
Overall a great camper spot and when you’re lucky and you have a spot near the water, you can see the boats coming into the harbour and passing by.

Harboar or marina camperplaces are popping up everywhere in The Netherlands. They are often near an old Dutch fishing town centre. The WC and shower facilities are good and shared with the boaters. Wifi is mostly available and sometimes there’s a restaurant on site.
